Lions of Bath 2010 Shop at Milsom Place

At the shop you can pick up your Lions of Bath safari maps as well as a range of Lions of Bath souvenirs, including lion posters, replica mini-lions for painting to your own design,  safari hats, silver and gold lion necklaces, t-shirts including a "Design-your-own T-shirt (choose your favourite lion to be printed on the back); original lion art, cuddly lions, greetings cards and generally all things lion!

Lions in the Den

The Milsom Place den is also home to "Edgar - the People's Lion", which has been signed by over 1,000  residents and visitors to Bath. and will guard the shop until the "Lions Roar Goodbye" auction preview weekend on 9th & 10th October when he will join the rest of the pride to say his final farewells in front of the Royal Crescent before the charity auctions on 15th & 17th October.

Name the Lion Competition

The other white and rather muddy  lion in the shop is the brave member of the pride who ventured into the lion enclosure at Longleat Safari Park earlier this year for a close encounter with the real-life pride....  Amazing footage of their meeting can be seen on a video loop in the shop, alongside the lion himself, who managed to get out of the enclosure in one piece, complete with muddy paw marks,scratches and a bite mark on his back leg! 

As this lion has created such interest, we may either raffle or auction him online after the main charity auctions - a great Christmas present for the successful bidder/raffle ticket holder!

There is currently a competition running in the shop to name him.  Entry is free and the winning name will be chosen on 1st September.  The winner will receive both of the Lions of Bath posters and a cuddly lion!

Lions of Bath e-safari

A short video demonstrating the exciting new Lions of Bath LAYAR mobile phone app can also be seen in the shop (courtesy of Sony Bath).  This hi-tech, "e-safari", kindly developed for the event by Bath-based company Media Grand, displays the lion sculptures on your phone as gold dots overlaid onto a map of the city.  When you click on the dots, individual web pages about each lion pop up, including links to the lion's artists and sponsors' websites, and even gives directions as to the quickest way to get to them from your current position!
